Working Days: Monday, Thursday
Michelle Habib
Registered Psychologist
I'm Michelle, a warm and empathic registered psychologist with many years of experience working in NGOs supporting children, young people, their parents/carers, and their care teams. I have extensive experience in the Out-of-Home Care sector and also have experience working with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and gambling problems.
I have a particular interest in complex trauma, creating support plans that are developmentally and neurobiologically informed, and that include supporting the people providing healing relationships to the child or young person.
I bring a holistic and creative approach to evidence-based practice to engage people in the therapeutic process. I incorporate elements from a variety of theories and modalities, including trauma, attachment, and family systems theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Art Therapy, and Sandtray work. I'm trained in the Circle of Security and Bringing Up Great Kids programs and am certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) and Clinical Art Therapy.
Warmth and a genuine desire to connect and understand others underpin my approach to creating a safe environment where the therapeutic relationship is prioritised. I provide a gentle and supportive space for people to explore their challenges and internal resources.
