Michelle Habib
Registered Psychologist
Michelle is a warm and empathic registered psychologist with many years’ experience working in NGO’s supporting children, young people, their parents/ carers, and their care teams. She has extensive experience in the Out of Home Care sector, and also has experience working with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, depression and gambling problems.
Michelle has a particular interest in complex trauma, creating support plans that are developmentally and neurobiologically informed, and that are inclusive of supporting the people providing the healing relationships to the child or young person.
Michelle brings a holistic and creative approach to evidence-based practice to engage people in the therapeutic process. She incorporates elements from a variety of theories and modalities including trauma, attachment and family systems theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Art Therapy and Sandtray work. Michelle is trained in Circle of Security and Bringing up Great Kids programmes and is certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) and Clinical Art Therapy.
Warmth and a genuine desire to connect and understand others underpin Michelle’s approach to create a safe environment where the therapeutic relationship is prioritised. She provides a gentle and supportive space for people to explore their challenges and internal resources.
