Emma Moore
Mental Health Social Worker
Emma is a social worker who has extensive experience working in intensive child protection and early intervention family support environments with parents, caregivers, and their children aged 0-12 years.
Particularly, Emma has practice experience and understandings with the distinct family challenges of parental stress, domestic and family violence, co-parenting, and siblings of children with disabilities. Emma has worked with individuals who have an array of complex social, health and family challenges including intergenerational trauma, anxiety, disability, and chronic health issues.
Emma holds strong experience in the facilitation of the following evidence-based parenting education programs: Circle of Security, 123 Magic and Emotion Coaching, Bringing Up Great Kids and No Scaredy Cats. Emma utilises the principles of these programs in daily practice, and regularly facilitates parenting education programs. Emma is enthusiastic about group work and its benefits of increasing emotional connections.
Emma uses a holistic and integrative approach to meet individual needs, working from an attachment, family systems and trauma informed approaches. Evidenced based therapies Emma utilises includes as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), mindfulness practices, and play based therapy. Emma is currently studying Master of Counselling.
Emma is passionate about supporting individuals during times of challenge and change, while working from an agenda of empowerment and compassion.
