Amrita Arvind

Registered Psychologist

Amrita (she/they) is a warm and compassionate psychologist based in Gosford, with a background in the trauma and occupational rehabilitation sector. She brings over 8 years of international experience into her practice. She's dually registered with AHPRA and RCI (India), expertly blending evidence-based, humanistic, and post-modern approaches to therapy.

As a clinician she brings a friendly and inquisitive personality. Amrita is passionate about working with diverse communities, including Australians of varied racial backgrounds, diaspora, refugees, and expatriates. Her special interests include neurodiversity, complex trauma, and attachment theory. She is fluent in Hindi, Gujarati, and Malayalam, allowing her to connect with clients on a deeper level.

Amrita is trained in CBT, REBT and Mindfulness Integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which blends eastern meditation practices with CBT to enhance well-being. She leans towards an evidence-based, humanistic & post-modern approach with elements from modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brief solution focused therapy, Narrative therapy and Play therapy. 

Outside of her professional life, Amrita nurtures her interest in hatha yoga and vipassana meditation, and embraces the great outdoors through hiking, photography, and camping.
